The Stowers Institute for Medical Research held a celebration Wednesday, October 4, 2023, to recognize 49 members who had reached 20 years of service. Our founders, Jim and Virginia Stowers, envisioned establishing the Institute as a long-term investment for advancing foundational knowledge in biology for the benefit of all.

Stowers President and Chief Scientific Officer Alejandro Sánchez Alvarado and Scientific Director Kausik Si officiated the ceremony. “To the individuals who have been a part of the Institute for 20 years, you made it possible for all of us to dream big to accomplish science.” said Sánchez Alvarado in his remarks. “This has real meaning—meaning that is going to outlive us all—and we thank you for all you have done.”
