Sankari Lab

“The natural world is the greatest source of inspiration and discovery. There are so many things left to learn." -David Attenborough.

How do host peptides modulate the life cycle and metabolism of bacteria?

In the Sankari lab, we investigate how tiny microscopic bacteria in the garden soil and the plants we see and eat every day form intricate relationships in nature. We study how they communicate with each other and how profoundly they influence the metabolism of each other. We hope to uncover the secrets of the codes of this language to better understand this relationship and to develop clinical and agricultural applications from what we learn.

We are always looking for motivated researchers to join our team.
